Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
Introduction
WD: Broken Links Finder is a Shopify app that detects 404 / broken links on your storefront and redirects shoppers to working pages. This Privacy Policy outlines what data we collect, and how we use, store, and protect it.
Information We Collect
We are committed to minimal, shop-level data collection. We store:
- Your shop domain, shop name, and the contact email Shopify provides for your store (used to send reports)
- The 404 / broken-link paths detected on your storefront (these are page URLs, not customer data)
- The redirect rules you create (plain, wildcard, and RegEx patterns) and your app settings
- Activity logs of broken links and successful redirects
- Usage counts and subscription/billing status
- If you contact support, the name, email, and message you submit
We do not collect or store customer personal data. The App does not access your customers' names, emails, addresses, or order data, and it does not use Shopify's Customer or Storefront APIs.
How We Use the Information
We use the limited data we collect to:
- Detect broken links and apply your redirect rules on the storefront
- Record an activity log of links, redirects, and fixes
- Send you a daily broken-link email and a weekly redirect report
- Provide support and manage your subscription
Email & Reports
We send a daily broken-link digest and a weekly redirect report to the contact email associated with your store. You can turn these notifications on or off in the App settings.
Data Security
Any stored credentials are kept encrypted, and we employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.
Data Retention & Deletion
When you uninstall the App, your sessions are deleted and your store is marked uninstalled. On a verified data-erasure request, we permanently delete all data associated with your store. We do not store any customer data, so there is no customer data to export or erase.
Your Responsibilities
As a merchant, you are responsible for:
- Keeping your Shopify account and staff access secure
- Keeping the app embed enabled so the App can detect 404s
- Configuring your redirect rules correctly
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any changes will be reflected with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance.
