Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2, 2026
Introduction
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the WD: Broken Links Finder Shopify app ("the App"). By installing and using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Overview
WD: Broken Links Finder is an SEO tool that detects 404 / broken links on a Shopify storefront and lets merchants redirect shoppers to a working page. Merchants can fix a broken link in one click or create plain, wildcard, and RegEx redirect rules, with an optional general fallback for any unmatched 404.
Eligibility
To use this App, you must:
- Be a registered Shopify merchant
- Agree to and comply with these Terms
- Install the app embed on your theme so the App can detect 404s
App Functionality & Limitations
The App detects broken links from your storefront's 404 page, matches them against your redirect rules, performs client-side redirects, and records activity. It also sends a daily broken-link email and a weekly redirect report.
Important:
- Detection and redirects rely on the App's theme app embed being enabled on your live theme. If it is disabled or removed, the App cannot detect 404s or redirect shoppers.
- Redirects are applied on the storefront and depend on the rules you configure. You are responsible for creating correct redirect rules; we are not responsible for redirects to unintended destinations caused by misconfigured wildcard or RegEx rules.
- We do not guarantee that every 404 will be detected or redirected, or that search engines will re-index pages on any particular timeline.
Data Usage
The App stores only shop-level operational data — your shop domain, the 404 paths it detects (these are page URLs, not customer data), your redirect rules, activity logs, settings, and the contact email used to send reports. The App does not collect or store customer personal data (no customer names, emails, addresses, or order data). We do not use, sell, or share your data with any third party. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
Security
Any stored credentials are kept encrypted, and we use industry-standard measures to protect your data. Merchants are responsible for safeguarding their Shopify account and staff access.
Uninstallation and Data Removal
When you uninstall the App, your sessions are deleted and your store is marked uninstalled. On a verified data-erasure request, all data associated with your store is permanently deleted from our system.
Support and Communication
We offer support via email. While we strive to respond quickly, we cannot guarantee immediate resolution of every issue.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WD: Broken Links Finder and its developers are not liable for:
- Lost traffic, rankings, or sales arising from missed or incorrect redirects
- 404s that were not detected while the app embed was disabled
- Damages due to misconfigured redirect rules or merchant misuse
But we are open to solving any problem that is within our control.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
